1、In 2008, the prize products of China Red Star Design Award have been exhibited in Qingdao,Ningbo,Dongguan,Fuzhou city of China.

On 20th -23th september,the second screening of 2008 China Red Star Design Award have been completed in Ningbo city.There are 3146 pieces of products of 565 enterprises from 13 provinces,4 municipalities and Hongkong area of China entered for 2008 China Red Star Design Award.The amount of products increased by 74 percent this year. Then 148 pieces of products of 95 enterprises have got into the second screening.

Totally there are 11 experts from 6 countries and regions as the jury of 2008 China Red Star Design Award.Such as MR. Francois Lenfant is global design manager for Europe & Middle-East (EMEA) of GE Healthcare, MR. Martin Darbyshire is member of Icsid Executive Board 2007-09,MR. Toshiyuki Kita is former Chair of Judging Committee of Good Design Award, MR. Lee Soon in is the President of Seoul Design Center, Professor Cheng Neng Kuan is from School of Design of Shih Chien University, Professor He Renke is from Design School of Hunan University and Professor Liu Guanzhong is from Art College of Tsinghua University etc.

Finally 139 pieces of products of 88 enterprises won the prize. In 2008,the number of Best of the Gold Prize is one, Gold prize is 9, Best Originality Prize is 12. Mr.Liu Guanzhong, Professor & Doctor Tutor Art College of Tsinghua University, spoke very highly of the products. He thought that the design level of 2008 products have approached or reached the internationally advanced level.

2008 China Red Star Design Award will hold a award ceremony in December.

2、On 13th Oct 2008, delegation of Taiwan Design Center (TDC) visited Beijing Industrial Design Center (BIDC). Director Chen Dongliang of BIDC and CEO Tony Chang of TDC signed cooperation memorandum between the two organizations in Beijing DRC Industrial Design Innovation Base.

The memorandum between BIDC and TDC aims to promote the development of local design industries. The two rganizations will become “Windows” of design cooperation across Taiwan Straits, and they will promote the cooperation by encouraging local design firms and designers to attend activities in these two areas, exchanging information, increasing communication on intellects and technology, building a regular channel of communication, carrying our design projects, protect and manage the intellectual property rights ect.

3、On 14th Oct 2008,President MR. Carlos Hinrichsen and Secretary-general MS.Dilki de Silva of International Council of Societies of Industrial Design（ICSID） visited BIDC. The two sides in the meeting wish to strengthen the international cooperation of design field in the future .

4、On 3rd-13th October,BIDC attended the 2008 Soul Design Olympic Convention (SDO）.SDO was a large integrated design festival and it`s aim to celebrate Seoul elected 2010 International Design City.

‘New beijing New design’ as the topic of‘SDO Future International Design City Exhibition’ layed out the design contents about 2008 Olympics.At the same time, there was 10 cities to take part in the exhibition, such as Milan,Newyork,Paris,Seoul etc.

5、Export and International Cooperation Association of Israel visited BIDC on 25th september. The delegation is the first organization of Israel visited BIDC. It`s a cooperative bridge between BIDC and design industry of Israel.
